My Favourite Hobby

Gardening is my favourite hobby.

A hobby is an activity that we enjoy doing in our free time. Different people choose different hobbies according to their interests. Some enjoy reading, drawing, travelling or collecting stamps. My favourite hobby is gardening. It gives me joy, keeps me active and brings me close to nature.

I began gardening at home.

I became interested in gardening when I saw my mother caring for some flower plants. She taught me how to prepare the soil, plant seeds and water young plants. Later, I made a small garden in an open space beside our home. My family encouraged me and helped me collect the necessary tools.

I grow different kinds of plants.

My garden contains flowers, vegetables and a few small fruit plants. I grow roses, marigolds and sunflowers. I also grow chillies, tomatoes, beans and spinach in different seasons. The green leaves and colourful flowers make our home look fresh and beautiful. Birds and butterflies often visit the garden.

Gardening needs regular care.

I usually work in my garden in the morning or afternoon. I water the plants, loosen the soil and remove weeds. Sometimes I add natural fertiliser to help them grow. I also protect young plants from animals and harmful insects. I never feel bored while doing these simple tasks.

My garden gives me great pleasure.

It is a wonderful experience to see a seed grow into a healthy plant. I feel very happy when flowers bloom or vegetables become ready to pick. My family uses the fresh vegetables in our meals. Sometimes I give flowers or vegetables to our neighbours, and they appreciate my work.

Gardening teaches me useful lessons.

This hobby improves both my body and mind. Working in the garden gives me light exercise and fresh air. It reduces stress and refreshes me after study. Gardening also teaches me patience, responsibility and love for nature. Moreover, plants provide oxygen and help keep the environment clean.

I want to continue my hobby.

In conclusion, gardening is an enjoyable and useful part of my life. It makes my free time meaningful and teaches me to care for living things. In the future, I hope to make a larger garden and grow more trees. I believe this hobby will continue to bring happiness to me and others.
