Kate Brown একজন ইংরেজি কবি। শিশুদের জন্য লেখা সহজ ও সুন্দর কবিতার জন্য তিনি পরিচিত। তাঁর কবিতায় প্রকৃতি, শিশু, গাছপালা, বৃদ্ধি, আশা ও সুন্দর জীবনের কথা পাওয়া যায়।
A Little Plant একটি ছোট কিন্তু অর্থপূর্ণ কবিতা। এখানে একটি ছোট গাছের গল্প বলা হয়েছে, যা বীজের ভিতরে ঘুমিয়ে ছিল এবং পরে আলো ও বৃষ্টির সাহায্যে মাটি থেকে বের হয়ে আসে।

A Little Plant tells the story of a small plant’s growth. At first, the plant sleeps inside a seed deep under the soil. Then the sunshine and raindrops tell it to wake up. Finally, the plant rises from the soil to see the wonderful outside world.

এই কবিতায় একটি ছোট গাছের কথা বলা হয়েছে। গাছটি প্রথমে একটি বীজের ভিতরে ঘুমিয়ে ছিল। বীজটি মাটির গভীরে চাপা ছিল।
তারপর সূর্যের আলো ও বৃষ্টির ফোঁটা গাছটিকে ডাকে। তারা যেন বলে, “জাগো, আলোর দিকে ওঠো।”
গাছটি সেই ডাক শুনে মাটি থেকে উঠে আসে। সে বাইরের সুন্দর পৃথিবী দেখতে চায়।
