Water pollution means making water dirty and unsafe. It is a serious problem because we need clean water every day. We drink water and use it for cooking, washing, and bathing. However, people often make water dirty in many ways. They throw waste, plastic, and bottles into rivers, ponds, and canals. Dirty water from houses and factories may also flow into rivers. Farmers sometimes use too many chemicals in the fields, and rain can carry these chemicals into nearby water. Polluted water is harmful to people, animals, and fish. It can make us sick, and water animals may also die in it. We can stop water pollution by changing some habits. We should never throw waste into rivers, ponds, or canals. Factories should not put dirty water into rivers. We should keep water sources clean and use safe water for drinking. Everyone should help protect clean water. Water is very important for life, so we must keep it clean and safe.

পানিদূষণ অর্থ পানিকে নোংরা ও অনিরাপদ করা। এটি একটি গুরুতর সমস্যা, কারণ আমাদের প্রতিদিন পরিষ্কার পানি দরকার। আমরা পানি পান করি এবং রান্না, ধোয়া ও গোসলের কাজে ব্যবহার করি। কিন্তু মানুষ অনেকভাবে পানি নোংরা করে। তারা নদী, পুকুর ও খালে ময়লা, প্লাস্টিক ও বোতল ফেলে। বাড়ি ও কারখানার নোংরা পানিও নদীতে যেতে পারে। কৃষকেরা কখনো মাঠে অতিরিক্ত রাসায়নিক ব্যবহার করেন এবং বৃষ্টির পানি সেগুলো কাছের পানিতে নিয়ে যেতে পারে। দূষিত পানি মানুষ, প্রাণী ও মাছের জন্য ক্ষতিকর। এতে আমরা অসুস্থ হতে পারি এবং জলজ প্রাণীও মারা যেতে পারে। কিছু অভ্যাস পরিবর্তন করে পানিদূষণ বন্ধ করা যায়। নদী, পুকুর বা খালে কখনো ময়লা ফেলা উচিত নয়। কারখানার নোংরা পানি নদীতে ফেলা উচিত নয়। পানির উৎস পরিষ্কার রাখা এবং পান করার জন্য নিরাপদ পানি ব্যবহার করা উচিত। পরিষ্কার পানি রক্ষা করতে সবাইকে সাহায্য করতে হবে। পানি জীবনের জন্য খুব গুরুত্বপূর্ণ, তাই আমাদের এটি পরিষ্কার ও নিরাপদ রাখতে হবে।
